Mental Enlightenment Scientific-Methodological Journal


This article examines reduplication in English and Uzbek as a phonological phenomenon, its degree of investigation in English linguistics, the interpretation of the concept of reduplication in English and Uzbek, their similarities and differences. At the same time, the status of reduplication in the language system, the phonological aspects, classification and linguistic features of their language expression are analyzed comparatively. The ideas have been proven by discussing a number of specific examples and their meanings. The analysis of reduplicative units was carried out on the basis of explanatory and bilingual dictionaries in English and Uzbek languages, examples from the fiction, data from the British National Corpus database and Internet resources.
