Abstract

Objective: To develop and implement the algorithm of treatment in multiple catatrauma associated with falls from heights, based on the injury severity score (ISS). Materials and Methods: The results of treatment of 729 patients with high altitude trauma were analyzed. 168 patients received treatment according to the algorithm (main group), 561 patients underwent standard treatment (control group). To assess the severity of injury, the Injury Severity Scale was used, based on the Abbreviated Injury Scale. Ultrasound graduation of the volume of free fluid in the abdominal cavity was performed on the scale of hemoperitoneum - Ultrasound Score (USS). Results: The use of ISS severity scale for trauma increases the availability and accuracy of diagnosis, predicting the outcome of treatment. The scale has clear quantitative criteria, reflects the degree of damage to the body organs and anatomical areas, which allows us to recommend its use in practical public health. Conclusions: The developed algorithm for surgical treatment of victims with multiple catatrauma determines the sequence and method of surgical interventions of various anatomical areas, solving the tactics of surgical treatment in this contingent of patients.
