The work analyzed features of technical characteristics of AC electric locomotives from other electric locomotives used in Uzbekistan. Converters are installed in the power circuit, with GTO (lockable thyristor) for electric locomotives "Uzbekistan," and for electric locomotives "Uzbekistan - yulovci" with IGBT (bipolar transistor with isolated gate). In general, two main current converters are installed on the locomotive. Each of them consists of four-quadrant pulse rectifier with three coordinates, intermediate DC link and 2 types of voltage inverters. One inverter serves for two frame-controlled bogie motors, the other for one axial-controlled bogie motor. In case of damage to any traction motor parallel connection to the rear bogie, during operation of the online system (on line) disconnect the corresponding main inverter, to cut off the power supply of the entire bogie. According to this, the driver or instructor should know and will know the sequence of operation and disconnection in case of damage to power converters during operation of electric locomotives.
