Abstract
This article discusses the characteristics and ways of obtaining soft magnetic materials on iron bases for manufacturing separate parts of magnetic cores of electrical machines. Soft magnetic materials shall have high initial and maximum magnetic permeability and low coercive force, and they shall have little loss of eddy current remagnetization, have a small hysteresis loop area and have relatively high electrical resistance. The production of electrical machine parts by powder metallurgy, compared to the magnetic metal products currently used, offers great advantages, reduced weight and size of parts, wider frequency range of materials operation, smaller vortex and magnetic losses and many other advantages. Keywords: soft magnetic materials; Electrical steel; Vortex and magnetic losses; Sintered parts; Magnetic induction; Coercive force; Magnetic permeability; Iron alloys
