Abstract

The article provides short information of the life and work of one of the greatest representatives of the world literature, the outstanding Uzbek poet and statesman Mir Alisher Navoi. The atmosphere under which the poet lived is studied partially, and thoughts relating to the present importance of urgent social moral issues are expressed.The readers’ attention is drawn to charming lyric gazals which enchants readers. The gazals, which contain such true human qualities as pure love, faith and loyalty are commented upon, and an attitude to the loyalty of poet’s personality, his moral world is expressed. It also speaks about the poet’s high skill in applying pun poetic arts reflected inhis gazals. His immortal gazals are translated into English and offered to the consideration of the readers
