Philology Matters

Abstract

This article is devoted to the study of general and specific features of military texts including stylistic, grammatical and lexical features. The quality of translation is directly related to interdisci plinary links and to the level of cadets’ knowledge of military terminology. The importance of teaching military vocabulary in English to cadets is highlighted in the article in connection with translation. It is essential that language teachers should pay a great attention not only to teaching military vocabulary but also to speaking, reading, writing and to translating texts on specialty.
