Abstract

This study is based on the results of the pathomorphological examination of the biopsy samples of obstructed ureteropelvic junctions of 33 children who underwent surgical procedures in the period from 2015 to 2018. All patients involved in the study were divided into two groups. The first group consists of children aged from 1 to 12months. The second group includes patients aged from 1 to 3 years. The analysis of the structural changes in ureter in age groups confirms, that the number of reversible and irreversible structural changes in the group of children at the age of more than one year old does not differ significantly. In a group of infant patients the possible structural change of ureter due to the high risk of recovery was found to be significantly higher than the frequency of pathologic changes which is irreversible.
