DETERMINATION OF FRICTION LOSS IN THE COURSE OF A NONLINEAR VISCOUS PLASTIC MEDIUM IN TUBES
Abstract
In this paper, we propose a simplified method for calculating friction losses during the motion of non-Newtonian oils, clay and cement mortars, obeying the Kessov law. The motion of a nonlinearly viscous plastic fluid in a round and flat pipe is considered. The speed and flow rate of the fluid are determined. A simplified method for calculating friction losses is proposed. The variational-difference method is applied and numerical results are presented.
