The article states that o-cresols react with chloroacetyl chloride under different conditions. This reaction with the FeCl3 catalyst at 130-140 ° C at a ratio of 1: 1 to 1.5.10-3 was 81% high. Decrease in the amount of catalyst has led to an increase in product quality. In these conditions, isomeric matter formation was confirmed by thin layer and gas chromatography.
