Abstract
On the mitochondria of pigeon tissues, the existence of various oxidation pathways was shown: uncoupled and coupled respiration with ATp synthesis. Uncoupled respiration is very intense in the MX of the internal organs, as well as the mitochondria of the pectoral and femoral muscles of the pigeons. Moreover, the substrates of uncoupled oxidation are partially succinate, as well as added NADH. The data obtained indicate that the mechanisms uncoupled respiration (proton leakage) and tissue thermogenesis in birds and mammals are analogous, but its intensity is higher in bird mitochondria.
