Abstract

This research is devoted to study of effects of a diterpenoid alkaloid, atisine, isolated from the local plant Aconitum zeravshanicum on the contraction of rat aortic smooth muscle. Smooth muscle contraction was determined under isothermal conditions of the FT-03 mechanotron (Grass Instrument Co., USA). The experiment studied the vasorelaxant effect of atisine (3-100 μM) on blocking Ca2+ channels located in the plasma membrane of the smooth muscle. Obtained results showed that pharmacologically active antihypertensive drugs can be obtained on the basis of diterpenoid alkaloids.
