The work is aimed at studying the potential energy of soils through determining the energy of humus. The energy of both virgin and irrigated gray soils decreases in the direction of dark → typical → light. In order to diagnose soils, the use of energy criteria accumulated in humus soils can play a significant role. Since individual soil types differ significantly in potential energy.
