Abstract

The theory of polarized radiation transport in isotropic media with finite optical thicknesses has been developed within the Chandrasecar model. Angular characteristics of polarization degree and intensity of diffusely reflected and transmitted radiation with the Rayleigh scattering law are calculated. Changes in the secondary radiation characteristics depending on the value of the optical thickness of the medium and the quantum output for a single scattering act are investigated.
