The article discusses the modeling of the trash holding mechanism taking into account the vortex zones of the channel. The problem is modeled as a flat potential flow of an ideal fluid in an expanding closed channel with a vortex zone and side inflow. At the same time inside the channel there is a point vortex. In the process of solving the problem, a line was established between the transit jet and the whirlpool for the design of the trash mechanism.
