A model is proposed for the formation of polariton luminescence of semiconductor crystals of the CdTe type and a theory that allows one to calculate the spectra of the partial contributions of polariton radiation at finite values ​​of the attenuation of mechanical excitons and in cases where the applicability criteria of the Boltzmann kinetic equation for the polariton distribution function are violated. It was shown that, in the frequency range , the contribution of the upper branch polaritons is decisive, which has not been previously considered in the usual picture of exciton luminescence of CdTe (in the kinetic approximation)
