The article deals with the issues of determining the optimal parameters of power consumption based on the analysis of energy characteristics of electric consumers. Analyzed are technological and production factors that affect power consumption. A method for calculating the optimal limits of power consumption parameters is proposed, which differs from the existing ones in that when the parameters of the norms are violated, conditional limits are adopted in which the reasons for the deviation are determined taking into account technological factors. As an example, the power characteristic of the main equipment of the electric steelmaking shop (EAFP) of the metallurgical enterprise is given, which enables to determine the optimal limits of the parameters of power consumption.
