The article discusses the interaction of zinc and chromium salts with various organic reagents, analyzes the effect of temperature on the nature of chromium (III) and zinc (II) salts, and compares the complexing properties of these elements with other elements. Considering the non-selectivity of chromium (III) ions with reagents Mo, Ni, W, V, Ti, Al, Fe (III), etc., the stability of colored compounds with the indicated reagents at a certain acidity of the medium was studied. It was argued that the complexes of other elements with organic reagents in an acidic environment will be destroyed at a much higher rate. The results showed that colored chromium (III) compounds in 1 N nitric acid medium are significantly stable for a long time, and complex compounds of elements such as Ni, Cu, V, W, Mo and rare-earth elements in 1 N nitric acid medium are destroyed immediately after addition of nitric acid.
