DOMAIN STRUCTURE AND MAGNETO-OPTICAL PROPERTIES OF TERBIUM FERRITE-GRANATE IN THE TEMPERATURE AREA OF THE MAGNETIC COMPENSATION POINT

Abstract

The magneto-optical method was used to study the domain structure of a thin single-crystal Tb3Fe5O12 garnet ferrite garnet in the temperature region near the magnetic compensation point of this ferrimagnet Tc = 248,6 K. It was shown that when the sample temperature approaches the compensation point, the domain width grows substantially, remaining finite at T = Tc. Based on visual observations of the restructuring of the domain structure with changes in temperature and external magnetic field, a magnetic H – T diagram is constructed that defines the boundary between the multi-domain and mono-domain (uniformly magnetized) states of the sample.
